~ Recognizing outstanding & dedicated conservation educators ~
Each year since 2008, the Lucas SWCD has chosen to honor deserving teachers and other community educators with the Educator of the Year Award for excellence and commitment to conservation and environmental education - with their students, their communities and in their personal lives.
In addition to their own conservation and environmental work, these outstanding educators also work with the Lucas SWCD to provide programs for their students and communities, and/or support Lucas SWCD activities such as our annual Tree & Garden Sale and Milkweed Pod Collection. These educators show a strong commitment to helping their students and communities understand and care about our natural resources, and the connection to our daily lives and well-being. Their passion for the environment is truly inspiring!
