Register below for our FREE Fall Pond Clinic! Eugene Braig, Program Director for Aquatic Ecosystems with OSU Extension, is our speaker for this year's Pond Clinic! We will spend time inside the Buehner Center discussing strategies specific to aquatic and invasive species management. About the Speaker: Eugene Braig
|
Eugene Braig is a fisheries biologist by training and applied-limnology jack of all trades in practice; Program Director for Aquatic Ecosystems with Ohio State University (OSU) Extension; and charged with outreach, classroom teaching, and research. He is a past Assistant Director of F. T. Stone Laboratory (OSU’s biological field station) and the Ohio Sea Grant College Program (a program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), a past chair of the Mississippi River Basin Panel (a regional advisory to the national Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force), a past president of the Water Management Association of Ohio and of the Ohio Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (and others), and a past regional director of the North American Lake Management Society. Eugene is also chair/coordinator of the Ohio Aquatic Invasive Species Committee (an "official" informal advisory to the state's agencies), a Trustee of the Ohio Biological Survey, serves on the Olentangy State Scenic River Advisory Council, is active with several additional advisories and professional organizations, and advises two student organizations at OSU. Fully embracing nerd status, he moonlights as a classical musician and serves as Artistic Director of the Columbus Guitar Society’s concert series and President of CityMusic Columbus.
