2021 Board of Supervisors Election Procedures

Legal Notice

The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code.

One Supervisor will be elected to a three‐year term commencing January 1, 2022 and ending December 31, 2024.

Stephen Loeffler (incumbent)

Voter Eligibility

Eligible voters include all owners and occupiers of land at least 18 years of age or older within Lucas County. This includes legal residents of Lucas County, non-resident land-owners, non-resident land-occupiers, and representatives of firms, corporations, limited liability companies, or trusts located within Lucas County. All eligible voters must certify their status as an eligible voter by signature on the ballot application.

​Voters will register by placing their name, address, and additional information as deemed appropriate by the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission on the prescribed registration forms. A picture I.D. or license is no longer required.

Election Procedures

Beginning October 5, 2021, eligible voters can either vote in-person or absentee.

To vote in-person, please visit our office during normal business hours between October 5th and 12:00 PM on November 3rd or at our Annual Meeting on November 3rd from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the Glass City Metropark.

To request an absentee ballot, choose one of the following methods:
  • Call the Lucas SWCD office at (419) 893-1966
  • Email LucasSWCD@gmail.com
  • Mail a request via the postal service to 130-A W. Dudley St., Maumee, OH 43537
Lucas SWCD will then mail the ballot application, election ballot and official election envelope to the person making the request. The ballot application and election ballot must be returned to the Lucas SWCD office by 12:00 PM on November 3, 2021. **All absentee ballots must be sealed in the official election envelope provided!
